The Right Mind to Achieve True Health
A true health is not simply how you feel as you wake up each day. It is also not a favorable lab, radiology or cholesterol LDL, HDL, blood pressure, sugar level exam report from your doctor. True health is not based on you have good physique. It is not the ability that you can compete in a triathlon.
True health is being absolutely the best you can be with the conditions you were given and the situation in which you now live. The absence of disease is not true health. It is empowering our bodies to perform at their optimum level. (1)
Optimal health means having reserves to deal with the unexpected stresses encountered in everyday life. It includes having a clear, strong mind, and a good memory. It also means having a feeling of spiritual harmony and balance.
One of the great frailties in our society, which we seldom notice, is taking too much for granted. Many of us spend our lives working hard to save money enough to enjoy the retirement. Later, we discover that we are going to have to spend a great deal of money and effort trying to regain the health we sacrificed in our pursuit of material comfort.
Many of us think our body like a machine. We rely on our health care to treat or fix it. It is their profession. Our impression thinks all diseases can be fixed till we had. Most of them all of sudden are not curable. We seldom see our health as an individual responsibility. We need to pay attention every day of our life. This is the most effective way to avoid degenerative disease and thus to achieve the maximum number of years of active, enjoyable living. Our health is invisible fortune.
